Sunshine FOOD Fever 2017

The ultimate four-course Sunshine progressive dinner, Sunshine FOOD Fever took us on a food journey that celebrated and reflected the successive waves of Asian, African and Pacific Island immigration which combine to make Sunshine one of the most culturally – and gastronomically – diverse places in Australia.

Your food journey began by meeting local Kiwi Ka Bakers who have transformed the humble Australian staple – the meat pie – into a range of pies, including vegan, reflecting Sunshine’s tastes, at the same time receiving national awards and accolades.

Then we met head cooks from three restaurants as they took us behind-the-scenes, presenting dishes celebrating their family, history and place. Sample North Vietnamese dry pho (a dry version of Vietnamese noodle soup) and salads, followed by a traditional Ethiopian or Indian banquet, all reflecting the communities that have called Sunshine home over the last ten years.

Sunshine Food Fever finished with a taste of the future – Afghan sweets and drinks from our newest community.

We celebrated a unique experience of food, culture and place all at an affordable Sunshine price! Only $48 a ticket.
