Sunshine Rocks the Rail TOO


The Sunshine Business Association is staging a music and cultural event ‘Sunshine Rocks the Rail Too’ on Friday 24th March 2017. This 4-hour FREE event will be held on the forecourt of the Sunshine train and bus interchange on the northern side of Sunshine Railway Station, celebrating Cultural Diversity Week.

Sunshine Rocks the Rail (Too)– music event returns to Sunshine station and the busy Sunshine-shopping precinct with a new location, new multicultural music performances and a new community focus. Locals, customers, train and bus commuters all will stop to the music of local favourite Rasa Unity and their reggae message of peace, love and harmony following an exciting youth focused talent quest featuring the talents of the diverse communities in the Brimbank area. Multicultural performances that will have the audience dancing in the street and station……Patrons are encouraged to catch the train and to leave the car at home. Sunshine’s many food businesses will be open and offering food, cold drinks, ice cream and more. 

The ‘Sunshine Rocks the Rail Too’ is a cultural community alcohol free event staged and presented by the Sunshine Business Association, and supported by Brimbank City Council and Metro through the Community Station Project.

Sunshine FOOD Fever

Sunshine Street Market 


The Sunshine Business Association (SBA) hosts a street market along Hampshire Road in the Sunshine Town Centre, which operates every second Friday subject to weather. The street market provides an additional attraction to the Centre that complements the existing offerings and attracts new customers. Sunshine Lantern Festival


The Sunshine Lantern Festival is a free community event that takes place in the busy Sunshine shopping precinct along Hampshire Road, Sunshine annually in September, 10am to 8pm. It will be a full day of family fun, entertainment, rides, street performers, music, food of may nations, magical Lion and Dragon Dancing, a Lantern Parade to celebrate the full moon and ending with spectacular fireworks at 7.45pm. 2017 date is TBC

Sunshine Short Film Festival

bannerSunshine Short Film Festival is hosted by the Sunshine Business Association every year in October.  The Festival offers the chance for everyone to have fun, be creative and tell a visual story in a film that runs no longer than five minutes.  Finalists have their films screened at the birthplace of Village Cinemas, on the big Screen at Village Sunshine Megaplex. Not only are there prizes up to $10,000 on offer; this could be your opportunity to get some exposure in the short film industry. The theme for 2017 is “BRILLIANT SUNSHINE”. Calling for Entries starts May for screening event on Friday 22 September 2017
