Acknowledging and rewarding the outstanding businesses within the Sunshine CBD
The Sunshine Business Awards acknowledge and reward outstanding small businesses within the Sunshine CBD and their owners, plus gives recognition of the businesses strength, stamina and business success. Proudly presented by the Sunshine Business Association and partnered with Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre, Sunshine Marketplace and Aussie Home Loans Sunshine, these bi-annual awards took place 1st – 30th June 2026 with 15 lucky winners + 2 Legends of Sunshine.
9,122 Votes for our Sunshine STAR Businesses in 2026
These awards gave our customers and supporters the chance to vote for their favourite STAR café, restaurant, retailer, hairdresser, travel agent, lawyer or professional service provider via our website and social media. A 4-week campaign of voting with the winners announced at a gala business networking event on Tuesday 14th July 2026 at the prestigious level 6 event space of the Brimbank City Council, Sunshine.
$24,500 worth of prizes and marketing/business development is given back to our Sunshine businesses that are within the Sunshine CBD and are Special Rate payers.

STAR Legend of Sunshine Awards
1. Cung Nguyen owner of Pho Hien Saigon Restaurant
You all will know Cung, as his family have been in Sunshine for many years and everyone has sampled a bowl of pho from Pho Hien Saigon. For nearly 20 years in Sunshine, Cung has used family recipes to build a large following. He has proudly supported our SBA events and activations, always sponsoring the LNY’s Fastest Pho eating Challenge, was a part of the 2013 Melb Food and Wine Festival with our Sunshine’s Pho Fever, and then Food Fever.
2. Dominic Uccellini owner and pharmacist of Devonshire Pharmacy
Domenic is known to most, as he has been the local pharmacist in Devonshire Rd for 40 years. He grew up in Sunshine, attended Sunshine PS and after Uni started Devonshire Pharmacy with his wife Shonaid. He was the first community Pharmacy to offer 9am-9pm, 7-days a week and opening every day of the year. He is very community minded, highly respected and has a supportive team of staff that speak highly of him. Domenic is also a small farmer growing Chestnuts in Kyneton.
