2014 Sunshine Lantern Festival

2014 Sunshine Lantern Festival

The 2014 Sunshine Lantern Festival took place on Saturday 6th September 2014 after a couple of years rest, offering a full day of family fun with entertainment on the Sunshine Marketplace forecourt stage area, children’s rides, street performers on stilts, balloon and magic tricks, face-painting, buskers, music of many cultures, fabulous street food from local restaurants and there was even SNOW falling at Sunshine Plaza. At 5pm the Sunshine Business Association gave out 2,000 free lanterns and batteries to children for the Lantern Parade. A display of crackers and the ritual Lion and Dragon Dance led the parade down Hampshire Road that finished with a spectacular fireworks display celebrating the full moon – first time ever in Sunshine. This event took place on the sidewalks of Sunshine.
